I Love Ventura

The Ventura Surfer a digital painting inspired by many photos of various surfers at Ventura Beach.

I was born at Ventura County Hospital at a time when there was only one hospital. Yes, that long ago.

Thankfully today if you visit you have many more options and many wonderful places to experience!

Let me begin with the official name...

Ventura, officially named San Buenaventura, is a city in the county seat of Ventura County, California, United StatesIt is a coastal city located northwest of Los Angeles. It’s on the Pacific coast overlooking the Santa Barbara Channel. The city is located between Malibu and Santa Barbara, overlooking Anacapa and Santa Cruz islands.

Ok now lets talk great food, creativity and fun in Ventura county. Now to be clear you will get the best advice from walking on the beach and chatting with the locals, " where to get the best coffee", "how to avoid the crowds at...", " where to get the best clam chowder" etc. etc. I still have my favorite spots but now I live in northern California and somethings, many things have changed. With that disclaimer I will start with the never a dull moment Ventura beach promenade here you can watch the sunrise over the beautiful surfers floating on the surf awaiting that perfect wave

Don't forget to walk the Ventura Pier, grab a coffee or a mimosa at Surfers Point Cafe, relax and soak up the beach city vibes.

If your one to go for history check out Mission San Buenaventura and the Ventura County Museum and the Olivas Adobe Historical Park

For the love of gardens and nature don't miss Ventura Botanical Gardens, and Harbor Cove Beach and Marina Park Park
